Dirty half-dozen

4/27 at 2:40 a.m. Six people were arrested for allegedly being involved in a physical assault to a First Street resident. According to police, four of them entered the home and struck the victim with a piece of cement from a bird bath, resulting in an injury that required stitches. The victim knew one or two of them but could not give police a reason why they would have assaulted him. The suspects also damaged the entry door and the oven. See arrests for more details.

4/29 at 1:46 p.m. A woman reported to police that her one-half carat diamond ring had been stolen from Sunsations Tanning Spa while she was tanning. She had removed the ring to prevent a tan line on her finger and when she collected her things, the ring, valued at $1,400, was gone.

Was it worth it?

4/30 at 3:32 p.m. and 3:33 p.m. A man and woman were arrested for allegedly shoplifting a Pepsi and a Dr. Pepper, valued at $1 each; a dog leash, valued at $10; and four T-shirts, valued at about $8 each. According to police, James Moores, of Portland, took the items from Walmart and gave them to Carol Stevens, of the same address, to conceal in her purse.
