Arrests

4/21 at 8:08 p.m. Charles B. Gardner, 32, of Ellen Circle, Yarmouth, was arrested at Payne and Scarborough Downs roads by Officer Glenn Tucker on outstanding warrants from other agencies. 

4/22 at 8:51 p.m. A 17-year-old male, of Lewiston, was arrested on Twilight Drive by Officer Austin Clark on a charge of violating conditions of release. 

4/23 at 10:39 a.m. Maurice L. Frankel, 34, of Atlantic Avenue, Old Orchard Beach, was arrested on the Interstate 295 Spur by Officer Michael Thurlow on an outstanding warrant from another agency. 

4/24 at 11 p.m. Jennifer T. Thomas, 27, of Sherwood Street, Portland, was arrested on Gallery Boulevard by Officer Joshua Guay on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. 

4/26 at 9:42 p.m. Matavis Johnson, 31, of Ellington Road, South Windsor, Connecticut, was arrested on U.S. Route 1 by Officer Benjamin Landry on charges of operating without a license and operating under the influence. 

4/27 at 9:08 p.m. Brendan Howard, 62, of Jasper Street, was arrested at Jasper and Baker streets by Officer Austin Clark on a charge of operating without a license.

4/27 at 11:32 p.m. Shelby F. Macvane, 21, of Osborne Street, South Portland, was arrested on U.S. Route 1 by Officer Benjamin Landry on charges of operating with a suspended or revoked license and violating conditions of release.

4/27 at 11:32 p.m. Jacob A. Sawtell, 21, of Westbrook Street, South Portland, was arrested on U.S. Route 1 by Officer Benjamin Landry on a charge of unlawful possession of a scheduled drug. 

Summonses

4/26 at 1:46 a.m. A 17-year-old female, of Scarborough, was issued a summons on Gunstock Road by Officer Glenn Tucker on a charge of disorderly conduct.

4/26 at 6:21 p.m. Clark R. Pomelow, 27, of Whitney Pines Drive, Standish, was issued a summons at County and Gorham roads by Officer Benjamin Landry on a charge of operating with a suspended or revoked license.

4/26 at 11:22 p.m. Joseph M. Babbidge, 19, of Lemont Avenue, South Portland, was issued a summons  on U.S. Route 1 by Officer Austin Clark on a charge of possession of marijuana. 

Open door policy

4/25 at 6:17 a.m. Police received 15 reports throughout the day of loose change, prescription pills and electronics stolen from cars along Beech Ridge and County roads. All the cars in question were unlocked at the time of alleged burglary.

Super smash bros. 

4/26 at 5:36 a.m. Nearly 20 homeowners in the Pleasant Hill neighborhoods, specifically along Coulthard Farms and Gunstock roads, awoke Saturday morning to find their mailboxes completely demolished. Police did not report any suspects in the string of vandalism. 

Making a splash

4/28 at 4:10 p.m. Police said a Chrysler Sebring driving in the wrong lane down Payne Road forced a truck off the road and into a marsh area and fled the scene. Emergency services arrived at the scene to find the driver uninjured and outside the partially submerged truck. The Sebring’s driver has been identified, though  not charged, and the incident remains under investigation.
