Dangerous liaisons

5/26 at 9:57 p.m. An officer stopped a car full of passengers near the Scarborough Public Library on Gorham Road after it nearly rammed the police cruiser and then took off at a high rate of speed. Eventually eight law enforcement personnel responded to the incident. According to police, an officer witnessed the driver quickly changing places with a front seat passenger as he approached. The officer asked Brandon Gross, the man he had observed driving, for his license. Gross became belligerent and was eventually handcuffed while he struggled and screamed obscenities. Other male subjects from the car were also screaming at officers, threatening to kill them, police said.  One male teenager, trying to interfere in Gross’ arrest, assaulted two officers. Gross was eventually put in the back seat of the cruiser. But the door was left open and he ran off into the woods. He was apprehended later. When the incident was over, Gross, Samantha Sweeney and a 16-year-old were all arrested on multiple charges and a 17-year-old was issued a summons.
