Cutting crime

11/22 at 9:33 p.m. Staff at Marden’s on Payne Road reported $1,900 of damage to mens’ room mirrors after graffiti was etched into the glass.

Black Friday blues

11/27 at 6:20 p.m. Police were called three times to Wal-Mart on Gallery Boulevard on Nov. 27 and 28. The first call was a complaint about customers alleged to be cutting into lines waiting for the store to open. One person told police they would leave the line to warm up in cars, then return to the line. At 3:43 a.m., store staff reported a threatening call from someone threatening to come pick up items staff said they prevented a woman from shoplifting earlier. At 1:17 p.m., police were called because of protesters on store property who eventually reassembled at a public bus stop.
