Arrests

8/4 at 11:34 a.m. Enchi Chen, 60, of Ross Road, was arrested on Ross Road by Officer Michael Sawyer on a charge of domestic-violence assault. 

8/5 at 2:09 p.m. A 17-year-old male from Saco was arrested on Interstate 295 North by Officer Brian Nappi on a charge of criminal speeding. 

8/6 at 10:27 p.m. Charles E. Sanborn Jr., 50, of Highland Avenue, South Portland, was arrested on Holmes Road by Officer Shawn Anastasoff on a charge of obstructing government administration.

Summonses

8/5 at 4:49 p.m. Allison E. Robida, 19, of Elm Street, Limerick, was issued a summons on Payne Road by Officer Douglas Weed on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. 

8/6 at 10:27 p.m. Charles E. Sanborn III, 18, of Maple Avenue was issued a summons on Holmes Road by Officer Shawn Anastasoff on a charge of operating when a license was when suspended or revoked.

Like father, like son

8/06 at 10:27 p.m. Officer Shawn Anastasoff reportedly saw a ’95 Oldsmobile Cutlass on Holmes Road towing a racecar on a trailer with a tail-light and brake-light out. The officer pulled the car over, at which time another vehicle pulled over as well. The driver of the Cutlass was identified as Charles E. Sanborn III, 18, of Maple Avenue, whose license was suspended. When Anastasoff began to issue a summons to the teenager, the driver of the second car — identified as Sanborn’s father, Charles E. Sanborn Jr. — reportedly began arguing with the officer about his son’s summons. Police reports say that at one point the elder Sanborn got out of his car, placed his hands behind his back and urged the officer to arrest him, which Anastasoff did, on a charge of obstructing government administration.
