SCARBOROUGH — Residents looking to apply for U.S. passports should now head to the Scarborough Public Library at 48 Gorham Road rather than Town Hall.
The change took place June 1, following a recent change in federal law prohibiting facilities that issue birth certificates from processing passports.
Appointments are required to process applications. The library said it encourages applicants to visit the U.S. State Department’s website, http://travel.state.gov/passport, for information about required documentation.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the library at 883-4723, ext. 4.
