SCARBOROUGH — The Scarborough Public Library will delay its opening time to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, to stay on track with its renovation schedule.
On that morning, the main service desk will be moved, temporarily suspending all computer systems used for processing materials. The suspension will not affect customers’ ability to reserve materials or access library accounts online.
Work on the library’s interior began in February and includes a reorganization of staff work areas, addition of high speed network and phone cables, a new electrical panel and relocation of the existing panel and interior painting.
Windows will be replaced starting in mid-March and crumbling exterior brickwork will be replaced in the spring.
The repairs require the library to cut back on its programming and limit meeting space for community organizations. For more information and updates, visit the Web site at library.scarborough.me.us.
