Scarborough’s Drew Kane reached the final day of last week’s Maine Amateur championship at the Waterville Country Club. Kane, who was named Scarborough’s 2014 Fall Male Athlete of the Year after leading the Red Storm to the Class A state title, was the lone junior player to advance that far. Kane tied for 40th with a three-day total of 229, which left him 19 over par and 28 strokes behind champion John Hayes IV of Cape Elizabeth.
