SCARBOROUGH — Town Councilor Shawn Babine has registered with the Maine Ethics Commission as a Democratic candidate in Maine House District 29.
The district, which includes part of Scarborough, is represented by Republican state Rep. Karen Vachon.
Babine previously served on the Scarborough School Board and was elected to his fifth term on the Scarborough Town Council in 2017, where he recently served as chairman. He ran unsuccessfully for the House in 2006.
