SOUTH PORTLAND — The holiday-themed Santa Hustle 5K and half-marathon will be held Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Maine Mall.

Runners will receive a red dry-fit pullover and Santa Claus beards and hats to wear during the race, while volunteers will dress as elves, handing out holiday refreshments. The half-marathon will start at 7 a.m., with the 5K stepping off at 7:15 a.m.

Proceeds from the races will benefit Easter Seals Maine, a local organization that provides a variety of services to disabled Maine adults and children. Registration is $50 for the half marathon and $35 for the 5K.

Traffic delays are expected on mall-area streets, according to the Police Department. Although roads will not be closed, traffic will be stopped to allow runners to pass through intersections until the event concludes around 10 a.m.
