HARPSWELL — Sandra Marie Moreau, 50, died May 19, at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 30, 1963, the daughter of Donald and Alberta Pickard, of Topsham. She attended Topsham schools, and graduated from Mt. Ararat High School in 1981. She earned a bachelor’s in human resource management from New Hampshire University in 1998.

On May 1, 1999, she married Richard J. Moreau, of Harpswell.

She worked at Enterprise Engineering in Brunswick for 17 years, and later as administrative assistant for the commissioner of education for eight years.

Moreau loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Gavin and Maya. She had a passion and talent for gardening. She and her husband loved spending time on their boat, and could be found there most summer evenings and weekends. She was a remarkable woman who truly loved life. She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Harpswell; parents, Donald and Alberta Pickard, of Topsham; daughter, Katherine Wallace, and husband, Nathan, of Harpswell; grandchildren, Gavin and Maya, of Harpswell; brother, Donald L. Pickard, of Topsham; sisters, Christine Briggs, of Harpswell, and Patricia Norzow, and husband, Eric, of Bowdoin; niece, Claire Briggs, of Harpswell; nephews, Evan and Matthew; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours were held May 22 at Stetson’s Funeral Home, Brunswick. A funeral service was held May 24 at the United Baptist Church, Topsham, with the Rev. Ronald McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be in Orr’s Island Cemetery at a later date.
