TOPSHAM — Sally J. Flaig, 63, died Dec. 9 at Parkview Adventist Medical Center after a battle with cancer.

Flaig was born in Worcester, Mass., on June 19, 1950, the daughter of George and Phyllis Wheeler Fairhurst.

She was educated in Brunswick schools but graduated from a high school in Rhode Island in 1968. She married Roger Flaig on Feb. 20, 1976.

She worked in the cafeteria of Mt. Ararat High School, and then for Champion Glass for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Roger Jr., who died in 1976.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; two sons, Justin Flaig, of Skowhegan, and Timothy Flaig, of Topsham; brothers, George Fairhurst and wife Ginny, of Topsham, and Thomas Fairhurst and wife Terri, of Newcastle; sister, Martha DiMarco and husband Robert; brothers-in-law, Donald Flaig and wife Judy, Randall Flaig, and Daniel Flaig and wife Debbie, all of Topsham; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held Dec. 13 at Stetson’s Funeral Home, Brunswick, where a funeral service followed. Burial will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls.
