TOPSHAM — A Sabattus man was reported in fair condition after being accidentally shot Nov. 19 during a hunting trip.

Joshua Stark, 25, was walking along a power line off Cathance Road with three others around 7:30 a.m. when his girlfriend – Sasha Leslie, 21, of Sabattus – slipped and fell on the ice, causing her shotgun to fire a bullet into his hip, according to Game Warden Cpl. John MacDonald.

Leslie had been walking behind Stark along with two other men, who are both in their mid-20s and were uninjured.

McDonald said Monday that his office will submit all the details to the Androscoggin district attorney’s office to decide whether there will be any charges brought against Leslie.
