BATH — Robert Foye Berry, 66, died unexpectedly June 28 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Born in Bath on Feb. 26, 1945, the son of Harry and Florence (Junkins) Berry, he grew up in Bath and graduated from Morse High School in 1963.

In 1966 he married Laurel Reno and they lived in Bath while raising a family until they were divorced a few years later. A dedicated dad, he would do anything for his children.

He worked as a truck driver for Sears & Cook Concrete before spending 21 years driving for Downeast Energy until he retired in 2008.

In 1979 he met Anita Downs, and would stop in every morning to have breakfast where she worked, just to talk to her. On Sept. 3, 1983, they were married.

He and Anita enjoyed spending time together fishing and driving his AMX or Corvette in the summer, and snowmobiling in the winter.

An avid sports and NASCAR fan, he loved watching his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.

He will be missed by all that loved him.

His parents predeceased him.

Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years, Anita of Bath; a son, Bob Berry and a daughter, Jacqueline Berry, both of West Bath; grandsons Theodore Snowden of Auburn and Jonathan Berry of Brunswick; step-grandchildren, Jason Desrosiers of Durham, Lindsey Larochelle of Lisbon and Danielle Harper of Bath;  stepfather, James Seaman of West Bath; sister, Ann Boucher and her husband Edward of Meriden, Conn., and brothers, Stephen Berry and his wife Nancy of Waterbury, Vt., and Dean Berry and his wife Jennifer of Wiscasset; many nieces and nephews; in-laws; and friends.
