BRUNSWICK — Robert E. Eaton, 77, died peacefully at his home with family by his side on Nov. 4.
On Sept. 21, 1932, he was born in Topsham, a son of Ralph E. Sr. and Frances M. Froton Eaton.
He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Following his tour of duty, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War, retiring in 1970 after 21 years of service.
On Oct. 13, 1956, he married Anne Marie Bisson at St. John the Baptist in Brunswick and was happily married for 49 years.
His interests included photography, gardening, raising racing pigeons, boating and building his own kayaks.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne Marie on Feb. 19, 2006, and a brother, Ralph W. Eaton Jr., on Feb. 7, 2000.
Surviving are his two children, Linda A. Smith and her companion Gene Weiner of Freeport, and Steven G. Eaton and his wife Mary of Chicopee, Mass.; a brother, Gerald E. Eaton of Springfield, Penn.; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Leanna Smith of Freeport.
Visiting hours will be held 9-9:45 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14 at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish, St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant St., Brunswick.
