PORTLAND — The Maine Department of Transportation will be working at night starting Wednesday, Aug. 3, on improvements near the intersection of Congress and Westbrook streets in Stroudwater.
MDOT spokesman Ted Talbot said the improvements include new signals, curb ramp warning devices for handicapped pedestrians, foundations, and mast arms. The work is expected to continue through November and improve pedestrian and driver safety in the area.
During the work, Talbot said traffic on Congress Street will be restricted to alternating one-way traffic Monday through Saturday.
