FREEPORT — The Freeport Half Marathon & 5K is returning under new management after a one-year hiatus.

The back-to-back races – which start at 9 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., respectively, on Sunday, Sept. 8 – begin and end downtown and follow courses through Freeport and Brunswick.

Twenty percent of entry fees will support the The Freeport, Pownal and Durham Education Foundation; Freeport Community Services; and the cross country and track teams at Freeport High School.

The half marathon is part of the New England Half Marathon Tour, which features half marathons in each of the region’s six states.

Runners who entered last year’s races, which were cancelled, can enter this year for half price. For more information or to register, visit freeporthalfmarathon.com.
