BATH — Rita Nell Hudson, 71, died Jan. 25 with her family by her side after a long illness.

Born on July 11, 1940 in Panama City, Fla., she was the daughter of Bueford L. Hoskins and V. Burnell Rutherford Gainer.

On May 8, 1965 she married John E. Hudson and together they raised three daughters. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She is predeceased by her parents and brothers Bobby and James Hoskins.

Hudson is survived by her husband of 46 years, John; sister Ruth Epling of Anniston, Ala.; daughters Debbie Fuller and her husband John of South Gardiner, Melissa York and her husband James of Phippsburg and Kelly Wyman and her husband Edward of Bath; grandchildren Melissa Lewis and her husband Dominick Anotoine of Sidney, Jonathan Fuller of Randolph, Erika Pullen and her husband Shawn of Bath, Andrew Wyman and his girlfriend Meghan Morrell of Brunswick and James York III of Phippsburg; great-grandchildren Daimian, Dominick, Ian, Aubrey and Alexa; and many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held on Jan. 31 at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home in Bath.
