BRUNSWICK — Rita N. Lewis, 86, died March 14 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Born in Brunswick on Nov. 29, 1924, she was a daughter of Flavien “Chip” and Yvonne (Deforge) Nadeau and attended St. John’s School.

On Jan. 31, 1941, she married Guy “Bud” E. Lewis Jr., and they made their home in Brunswick.

Over the years she worked many jobs in addition to raising her children.

Her interests included cooking and baking for friends and family, and doing flower arrangements.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Babe Nadeau and Daniel Nadeau, and three sisters, Irene Overlock, Claire King, and Doris Zazeski.

Surviving are two children, Carole M. Lewis of Topsham, and Richard D. Lewis of Brunswick; two grandchildren, Judith Lewis of Topsham and Melissa F. Lewis-Cook of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Savanah Lewis and Sabrina Lewis, both of Topsham; and a sister-in-law, Angelyn (Lewis) Medary of Brunswick.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick, with a reception to follow at The Knights of Columbus, 2 Columbus Dr., Brunswick.
