SOUTH PORTLAND — The first annual Deb Cole Memorial Motorcycle Ride will take place Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is in honor of Cole, a career firefighter and paramedic who passed away June 11 after collapsing while on duty at the Western Avenue station. She was a firefighter in South Portland and a captain with the Goodwins Mills Fire Department. The proceeds of the ride will benefit Cole’s family.

The ride will begin and end at Bentley’s Saloon on Route 1 in Arundel. There will be stops at the South Portland West End fire station and the Goodwins Mills fire station. More than $8,000 in raffles will be given at the stops, and while each registrant will be given a raffle ticket, there will be an opportunity to purchase more at the two stops.

Registration is $25 per driver, and $10 per passenger and will be available the day of the ride.

For more information, contact firefighter and paramedic Rick Lee at 828-0457.
