BRUNSWICK — Richard Warren Rock, age 82, died Oct. 2 at Mid Coast Senior Health Care Center.

He was born in Nashua, N.H. on Dec. 12, 1926, the son of Ralph E. and Mildred A. Small Rock.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Air Force. From 1951 to 1956 he was a Naval architect at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. In 1956 he began his 27-year role as supervisor of shipbuilding for the Navy in Bath, and received many awards for his work.

Over the years he was a Cub Scout pack master, a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church, past vice president of the Sports Boosters Club and sang in the choir at the First Parish Church of Brunswick choir for 25 years.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Winona Rock, on Jan. 5, 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Winifred Anketell Rock of Brunswick; his sons, Richard W. Rock II, and his wife, Nancy of Jeffersonville, Vt., and Robert W. Rock and his wife Linda, of Baker City, Ore.; a sister, Shirley Nann of Stewartsville, N.J.; and 28 nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
