TOPSHAM – Richard L. Saucier, 84, of Topsham, died Dec. 2 at his home.

He was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Brewer, the son of Maxime and Clarisse Bosse Saucier.

Saucier attended Topsham and Freeport schools and served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Pauline Bergeron, with whom he raised six wonderful children. After she died on July 20, 1968, he married Jeannette Bolduc on Jan. 20, 1979.

Saucier worked for Bath Iron Works for 39 years, retiring in March 1991, but he was also an avid farmer who raised many animals and tended a large garden. He was an active member of the American Dairy Goat Association.

He loved to spend time at his camp on Pleasant Pond, and gathering with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of All Saints Parish.

He was predeceased by a son, Rick Saucier.

Besides his wife, of Topsham, he is survived by five daughters, Paula Hildreth, Donna Brawn, Sandra Johnson, Monica Hildreth and Rena Frank; four stepchildren, Nola Ormsby, Jon Ormsby, Claire Levesque and CelesteTamburello; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 7 at at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish in Brunswick. Burial with military honors followed at St. John’s Cemetery in Brunswick.
