BRUNSWICK — Richard D. Pelletier, 95, formerly of Topsham, died March 28 at Hill House Assisted Living.

Born Aug. 17, 1914, in Eagle Lake, he was a son of Donat and Darumiene Lang Pelletier. 

For 35 years he worked for Bath Iron Works until retiring in 1976. 

On May 30, 1940, He married Rita Girardin in Lisbon Falls.

He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was proud of his French-Canadian heritage and had recently donated an Acadian history book to the University of Moncton, B.C.

An avid Red Sox fan, he would listen to games into the late hours of the night.

His other interests included fishing and hunting.
 
He was predeceased by a son, Dennis Pelletier, a daughter Julie Sanders, three brothers, William Pelletier, Arthur Pelletier, Renaud Pelletier and two sisters, Evelyn Perreault, Donalda Ruest.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Rita of Brunswick; two sons, Richard Pelletier and his wife Carol of Lake Worth, Fla., David Pelletier and his wife Vicki of Centennial, Colo., and a daughter, Jill Pelletier Allen and her husband Neal of Portland; a brother, Herve Pelletier of Topsham and a sister, Helen Marquis of Brunswick; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
