YARMOUTH – Rhea May McLean, 83, of Yarmouth, died March 29.

She was born May 29, 1929, in Macon, Ga., the second daughter of Florence Seeley and Leonard Aldridge. The family settled in Maine where she attended North Yarmouth schools.

In 1949 she married Gerald DeRoche. The couple had two children, Gary and Debra. In 1975 she married Donald McLean and they lived in North Yarmouth until his death in 1995.

She was employed by W.T. Grant’s in Portland and later as a hostess at Down-East Village Restaurant in Yarmouth.

McLean had a passion for music. She often rendered her own versions of Elvis and Patsy Cline tunes, and she rarely missed an opportunity to dance. Whether she was at Harmony Hall in North Yarmouth, in the function room of her retirement community in Lakeland, Fla., or around the house during a family dinner, her quick steps entertained onlookers.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Marshall, and her husband, Ric, of Standish; her grandson, Justin Alt, of New York.; her granddaughters, Tara Russell, and Kedrick Plummer, of Portland, and Megan Bayra of Portland; her great-grandson Lennox Plummer and her many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald McLean, her son, Gary DeRoche, and her great-granddaughter, Florence Plummer.
