SCARBOROUGH — The first of three paving projects began on Haigis Parkway this week, and will continue along Payne Road through late August, according to a release from the Maine Department of Transportation.

One-way traffic will alternate throughout the work zone, but work will cease from 7 a.m.-9 a.m and from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. each day.

Crews expect the initial work will be done by June 27. Paving of a second section of Payne Road will begin June 30, from the intersection at Ginn Road to Mussey Road. That phase has an expected completion date of July 10.

The third project will begin Aug. 4, and finish the remaining section of Payne Road. The work will be done at night and will likely end by Aug. 28.
