PORTLAND — Raymond L. Leavitt, 73, died Jan. 20.
He was born in Haverhill, Mass., Oct. 14, 1936.
After graduating from Haverhill High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He later worked in leather tanneries and drove taxis until he retired.
A kind man with a good sense of humor, he moved to Portland to be close to his son, Raymond David.
He is survived by his son Raymond David Leavitt and daughter Lou; brother Bill and sister Lorraine; and ex-wife Peggy Saunders.
He was buried at the Evergreen Cemetery in Portland.
Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.
