PORTLAND — Two open houses on extending rail service from Portland to Lewiston-Auburn will be held next week.
The first is scheduled for 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in Portland City Hall Room 24.
The second is scheduled for 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St.
Officials from the Maine Department of Transportation, Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, and Lewiston and Auburn are expected to gather public opinion on the possible rail service expansion.
Snow dates for the meetings are 4:30-6:30 p.m. April 4 in Portland and the same time, April 5, in Lewiston.
