FREEPORT — The eighth annual Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival will take place at L.L. Bean on Saturday, Oct. 30.

There will be live music, pumpkin carving, a whoopie pie eating contest, costumes, prizes and other activities. Children can explore a Pumpkin House and see thousands of jack-o’-lanterns on display. All proceeds will benefit Camp Sunshine, and children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

The festival will take place at L.L. Bean, 95 Main St. from noon to 8 p.m.

Camp Sunshine is a free, year-round program run mostly by volunteers. Its goal is to create a safe haven for sick children and their families. To support the organization call 655-3800 or visit campsunshine.org.
