PORTLAND — The Casco Bay Lines Board of Directors will discuss changes in fares and expanded service at its 7:45 a.m. meeting April 28 at the ferry terminal off Commercial Street.

Included on the agenda are proposed rate increases for service to Great Diamond, Little Diamond, Diamond Cove, Long Island, Chebeague Island and Cliff Island, to correspond with expanded service.

The first proposal would add 30 cents to fares to Great Diamond, Diamond Cove and Long Island to cover the expense of adding 4:15 p.m. weekend and holiday  service during the winter.

A second proposal would add 40 cents to Great Diamond, Diamond Cove and Long Island fares to cover expenses for noon trips Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the winter.

Both proposed fare increases, which would become effective June 18, are for adult tickets, with corresponding increases for children, elderly and disabled passengers, according to the CBL agenda.
