BRUNSWICK — Priscilla R. Williams, 86, formerly of Sherman, died June 1 at Mid Coast Senior Health Center.

She was born in Merrill on Jan. 8, 1923, daughter of Wendell D. and Barbara M. (Rockwell) Corliss.

In 1939, she graduated from Sherman High School and later graduated from Ricker College in Houlton. After college, she worked on Wall Street in New York City as a secretary and bookkeeper. During World War II, she worked at Fellows Gear Shaper in Springfield, Vt., , where she met her future husband. She later served as town manager of Sherman and as secretary to the Superintendent of Schools.

In 1946, she married W. Stanley Williams. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in March.

She had a lifelong passion for horses, owning several horses over the years, and enjoyed riding her entire life. She mentored many young riders, including her grandchildren, and was a member of equestrian organizations.

With many friends of all ages, she treated them like extended family. A resilient woman, she held a positive outlook on everything, even when faced with illness. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed numerous family celebrations throughout the years. She especially loved her cat, Callie.
