FALMOUTH — Priscilla S. Hallett, 90, passed away Sept. 29 at Falmouth by the Sea with her loving family at her side.

She was born June 19, 1925, in Westbrook to Guy and Katherine Spiller. She began working at SD Warren after graduating from Westbrook High School in 1943. She helped build the family business, Handy Boat Service and the Galley Restaurant, with her former husband, Merle Hallett. She went on to work as a bookkeeper for Dr. Joseph Long until she retired.

As an active member of Foreside Community Church, Hallett was a member of the Guild and acted as church treasurer for several years. The knitting and sewing tables at the annual church fair were often loaded with Hallett’s handmade items.

She enjoyed sailing and skiing with her family, and said the faster she knit, the faster the boat went.

Hallett also enjoyed gardening and baking, as well as watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and school events.

She summered at the family camp on Crescent Lake in Raymond from the day school let out until the day before school started. Hallett had a lifelong love of swimming, was active at University of Maine Lifeline and Senior Games, with many gold medals to her credit.
