PORTLAND — Two federal agencies have provided nearly $1.13 million for programs at Preble Street.

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Justice grants in an Oct. 21 press release.

The agency will receive $625,000 to fund rapid rehousing and other support for at-risk and LBGTQ youth, and $500,000 to assist victims of human trafficking.

“This funding will allow Preble Street to continue to provide and expand crucial services for vulnerable individuals facing homelessness, housing issues, hunger, and poverty,” Collins said.
