PORTLAND — Preble Street will get $1.7 million to serve homeless veterans in Maine, according to announcement by U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine.
The grant comes from the Department of Veterans Affairs and will allow Preble Street to continue the Supportive Services for Veterans and their Families program, which fights veteran homelessness.
Preble Street first started a program for homeless veterans four years ago; it was expanded statewide two years later.
