PORTLAND — Police are seeking a single suspect in the Tuesday night robbery of the Nickelodeon Cinema at 1 Temple St.

City Hall spokeswoman Jessica Grondin said the robbery occurred at 10 p.m. as the theater was closing for the evening.

Police said a white man, about 30 years old and 5 feet 8 inches tall entered the theater, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from a clerk.

The suspect was described as being about 150 pounds, may have had a nose ring, and was wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans. He fled on foot, and police said no one was hurt in the incident.

The robbery was the third at the Nickelodeon this year. Other robberies occurred on Jan. 8 and April 2, and police said they are investigating to see if the incidents are connected.
