PORTLAND — Heather Davis, executive director of The Telling Room, has been named executive director of nonprofit LearningWorks.
Learning Works Chairman Will Kilbreth announced the appointment in a June 28 press release.
LearningWorks, at 181 Brackett St., provides education and training opportunities for disadvantaged youth in York and Cumberland counties.
Davis replaces Shenna Bellows, who served as temporary executive director following the resignation of Mayor Ethan Strimling after he was elected last fall.
Davis since 2011 has been executive director of The Telling Room, a nonprofit that teaches writing and literary skills to children ages 6-18 at 225 Commercial St.
“I am thrilled to join (LearningWorks’) talented board and staff to continue and enhance their good work for many years to come,” Davis said.
