SCARBOROUGH — Police are investigating a shooting that left a Portland woman hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head.
Carol Dorney, 47, was found in the driveway of 38 Running Hill Road after police responded at 9:44 p.m. Thursday. Several people were initially detained, police said in a Friday morning press release, but no one was arrested and the circumstances of the shooting remained under investigation.
Dorney was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was in intensive care, police said.
