PORTLAND — A 23-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning after she was hit by a vehicle on Forest Avenue.

Police Lt. Aaron Pepin said Brittany Weston, whose address was not released, was taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after the 8:30 a.m. accident.

Pepin said Weston was hit by a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by 35-year-old Lukas Rosov of Portland. Weston was trying to cross inbound Forest Avenue near the southbound on-ramp to Interstate 295, said Pepin, and was not in a crosswalk when she was struck.

Rosov was not injured in the collision.

The accident remains under investigation, and police asked anyone with information to contact them at 874-8532 or 874-8575.
