PORTLAND — As part of its celebration of Clean Water Week, the city and the Portland Water District are sponsoring a guided walking tour around Back Cove to highlight the significance of clean drinking water.

Staffers from Portland’s Water Resources Division and the PWD will provide insights into key infrastructure, including the East End Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The tour will start at 1 p.m. in the Preble Street parking lot near the Back Cove trail map kiosk and is expected to take approximately 1 ½ hours.
