PORTLAND — The National League of Cities recognized Portland for completing key health and wellness goals in Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties.
LMCTC is a component of first lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative to help end childhood obesity. LMCTC works with elected officials nationwide to adopt policies to improve access to healthy, affordable food and opportunities for physical activity across five goal areas.
Portland was awarded gold and silver medals. This brings Portland’s gold medal count to five, ranking the city first among the 512 communities participating in LMCTC.
