PORTLAND — The annual St. Patrick’s parade along Commercial Street will begin at noon Sunday, March 13.

Vinny O’Malley of the Maine Irish Heritage Center said the parade will start at the Portland Fish Pier near Center Street. It will then proceed to a viewing stand at Bell Buoy Park, next to the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal.

O’Malley said the Claddagh Mhor Pipe Band and the Kora Shriner Highlanders will march in the parade, while members of the Stillson School of Irish Dance perform. Also marching are the Maine Police Emerald Society, Ancient Order of the Hibernians, the Portland Hurling Club, Maine Gaelic Sports Association, Girl Scouts of America and Burns Ceili Group.

After the parade, a reception will be held at the Maine Irish Heritage Center, 34 Gray St. (entrance is on Danforth Street).
