PORTLAND — St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated Sunday, March 15, by the Irish American Club with a parade on Commercial Street and reception at the Maine Irish Heritage Center.

The parade begins at noon at Center and Commercial streets, according to a press release, and is expected to end at 1:30 p.m. at Bell Bouy Park, near the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal.

This year’s parade will include the Claddagh Mhor Pipe Band, the Maine Public Safety Pipe & Drum, Stillson School of Irish Dance members, the Maine Gaelic Sports Association and the Portland Hurling Club.

A reception at the Maine Irish Heritage Center, 34 Gray St., will feature a tribute to the Sisters of Mercy, an order celebrating its 150th anniversary in Maine.

Organizers are looking for more parade sponsors and participants. For more information, call 310-8575 or email club2@irishofmaine.org.
