Deering-Portland FH game dedicated to cancer awareness

When rivals Deering and Portland meet in their lone field hockey showdown this season, Monday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. at Deering High School, more than bragging rights will be at stake. The game will be dedicated to Deering supporter Shelly DiBiase and her family and to cancer awareness. All proceeds from the game, in addition to T-shirt and food sales, will go to cancer research. Maine Basketball Hall of Fame golf tournament upcoming

The second annual Maine Basketball Hall of Fame golf scramble will be held Monday, Aug. 10 at the Falmouth Country Club. Tee time is 8 a.m. The cost is $125 for an individual or $625 for a team. FMI, 504-6182.
