Portland Bulldog Challenge upcoming

The inaugural Portland Bulldog Challenge, a 2.5-mile race through mud, water, obstacles and more mud, will be held May 18 at the Portland Arts and Technology High School, 196 Allen Ave. Run/crawl as an individual or as part of a four-person team to support scholarships and provide equipment, training and other athletic needs. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers and T-shirts will be given to those who register before April 30. FMI, portlandbulldogchallenge.com.

SMCC baseball finishes season victorious

The Yankee Small College Conference champion Southern Maine Community College baseball team wrapped up the season last weekend with a 6-0 win over Navy Prep, behind a no-hitter from Corey Mongiat. The Seawolves wound up 23-23-1.

SMCC holding golf tournament

Southern Maine Community College’s Seawolves Athletic Club and the SMCC athletic department will host its 9th annual golf tournament Tuesday, June 18 at Prouts Neck Country Club in Scarborough. Proceeds go to to help improve the student-athlete experience at the college. Foursome registration is $250, which includes fee, cart, box lunch, a post-tourney reception and prizes.
