SMCC soccer teams ousted from playoffs

The Southern Maine Community College women’s soccer team saw its season come to a close last week with a 3-2 overtime loss to Unity in the Yankee Small College Conference quarterfinals. Michela Desjardins and Zyrah Guistra had the Seawolves’ goals. SMCC finished 5-4-4 (4-2-2 in conference). The men won their opening round game, 4-1, over visiting rival Central Maine CC (Nicholas Oram had three goals and Brett Stillwell one), but lost to New Hampshire Technical Institute, 2-0, in the semifinals to wind up 10-6-1 (8-4-1 in conference).
