Local football players honored
Cheverus’ Greg Grinnell and Cody O’Brien and Portland’s Justin Zukowski recently were named recipients of the 27th annual scholar-athlete award from the Howard Vandersea/Maine Chapter of the National Football Foundation. All three players received $500 scholarships.
Girls’ Golf Fair upcoming
The First Tee of Maine will hold a first-ever free Girls’ Golf Fair for girls of all ages and abilities, June 22, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Riverside South Golf Course. Summertime running camp upcoming

Maine Basketball Hall of Fame golf fundraiser upcoming
The first Southern Maine golf scramble to benefit the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame will be held Monday, July 21 at the Falmouth Country Club. The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The five-man team entry fee of $625 includes two carts and an awards luncheon, scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. FMI, 504-6182 or tfmaines@comcast.net.
