Name change for Portland youth football

Little Ladd football and cheering and the Portland Youth Football League have merged into one entity. Effective March 3, all youth football in the city will be called Portland Youth Football and play as a participating member in the Maine Youth Football League. SailMaine is seeking fall coaches for its high school teams. Assistant
coaches are also sought. The season begins in mid-August and ends Oct.

McAuley offering girls’ basketball camp

McAuley’s basketball day camp for girls (ages 9 – 14), featuring

Portland Rec track program underway

The Portland Recreation Department is offering a USA track and field
summer youth program for ages 7 through 14 Mondays and Tuesdays from
4:15 to 5:45 p.m., at Fitzpatrick Stadium. Meets will be held Thursdays
at various locations. The program runs through Aug. 8. The fee is $85

Ziggy’s Running Camp open for registration

Ziggy’s Running Camp for boys and girls ages 12 to 18, presented by
Waynflete School cross country and track coach Brian “Ziggy” Gillespie,
a member of the Maine Running Hall of Fame, will be held July 13
through 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. , at the Waynflete athletic field.
Enrollment is limited to 10 boys and 10 girls. The cost is $175. FMI,

Seacoast United holding tryouts

Seacoast United Maine is holding tryouts for its winter/spring teams July 12 and 26 at North Yarmouth Academy. Fitness, fun camp for kids opens in Yarmouth

Riverview Physical Therapy is introducing a new wellness camp for boys
and girls entering grades 2-6 called CampFit. An athletic trainer and
physical therapist will lead the camp in personalized fitness games and
outdoor activities. The 4-week camp starts July 20 and will be held on
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9-10:30 a.m., July 20-Aug. 14 at 50

Lacrosse clinics upcoming
