Waynflete AD earns certification

Waynflete School athletic administrator Ross Burdick has been recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators’ Association as a Certified Athletic Administrator. Burdick demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in his field. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s educational background, experience and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination. Burdick has been at Waynflete since 2004.

Deering girls’ basketball hoops camp upcoming

Deering’s girls’ basketball program is hosting a Lady Rams Hoop Camp from June 28 through July 1 for incoming grades 3 through 8. The camp takes place in the Deering gym each day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost is $100 per player or $150 per family. Deering is also hosting a summer program beginning Monday for players entering grades 9 through 12. There will be workouts in the Deering gym and games, home and away. Cost is $100. Parents can sign up the first day of camp. FMI, 854-1775.

McAuley summer camps upcoming

There is still time to register for summer camps at McAuley. Softball and lacrosse go from June 28-July 2. Basketball camps run from July 5-9 and 12-16. Field hockey and soccer camps are July 19-23. Each camp runs from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Cost is $150. There are multi-week discounts. FMI, 797-3802 or mcauleyhs.org.

Officials assignor sought

The Southwestern Maine Activities Association (SMAA) and the Western Maine Conference are jointly seeking an officials assignor for field hockey, soccer and lacrosse. To apply, send a letter of interest and current resume via e-mail to Susan Robbins at Susan_Robbins@yarmouth.k12.me.us by Friday.
