SailMaine seeking coaches

Casco Bay Sports announces September offerings

Casco Bay Sports has openings for several fall sports leagues. Outdoor soccer has an 11 v 11 Sunday league, beginning Sept. 12 and a Monday 6 v 6 league, starting Sept. 20. Coed flag football starts Sept. 12. Coed frostbite softball begins Sept. 12. Basketball features a Tuesday competitive league, beginning Sept. 14, a Thursday all-ability league, starting Sept. 16 and a Sunday all-ability league, beginning Oct. 3. There will also be dodgeball leagues on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. FMI, cascobaysports.com.

Portland Porpoise registration

The Portland Porpoise Swim Club will hold assessments and registration for new swimmers Sunday, Sept. 12th at 2:30 p.m., at the Riverton Community Center in Portland, for school-aged children interested in competitive swimming. There will also be a high school prep program from Sept. 12 through Nov. 14, focusing primarily on stroke technique and drills, as well as general aerobic conditioning. Frozen Ropes tryouts

The Frozen Ropes Baseball and Softball Training Center will be conducting tryouts for their Jr. Black Bear 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U travel softball teams on Sunday, Aug. 22. The tryouts will be held at the Springbrook Park in Scarborough. 12U and 14U tryouts will be at 9 a.m., 14U at 11:30 a.m. and the 18U tryout will be at 1:30 p.m. The Jr. Black Bear program is overseen by Lynn Coutts.
