SMCC’s success continues
Southern Maine Community College’s fall sports teams continue to impress as the regular season nears its conclusion. Golf was second at its most recent match in Barrington, N.H. Cape Elizabeth’s Alex McFarlane earned medalist honors with a 72. Baseball has fallen victim to a recent spate of rainouts, but will host the NECA Fall Classic on Saturday. Softball was an 8-4 winner at rival Central Maine CC last Wednesday, 8-4.
Over the weekend, the Seawolves dropped games to the UNH club team and New Hampshire Technical Institute. SMCC (3-5 overall, 3-3 in conference) hosts the NECA Fall Classic this weekend. Men’s soccer began the week 8-2 (8-0 in conference) after recent victories over University of Maine Machias (2-1), Northern Maine CC (1-0) and Eastern Maine CC (4-0). The women’s squad began the week 4-3 after a 7-1 win at EMCC Sunday.
Raging Bulls to host playoff game
The Southern Maine Raging Bulls of the New England Football League completed their regular season at 6-2 and will host a playoff game Saturday at 3 p.m., at Deering High School. FMI, ragingbullsfootball.com.
