Portland’s Sadie Armstrong had herself a memorable summer on the softball diamond. Armstrong was the only USA Softball 12-U All American from Maine and one of only a handful of two-time 12-U All-Americans in the country. She led her team from the Northeast to its best yet, fifth place, with the most innings pitched and a resulting zero earned run average and she played error free at first base at the All American Games in Oklahoma City at Hall of Fame Stadium. The next week, Armstrong was the first ever athlete from Maine to participate in the USSSA World Fast-pitch championship in Kansas City, Kansas. Additionally, Armstrong’s Central Mass Voodoo 14-U team participated at USA Eastern Nationals. Armstrong has also been named a Under Armour Softball Factory Preseason Rookie All-American for the second year.
